About the artist

Iñaki Crespo was born in Bilbao, Spain. He is now based in Radcliffe-On-Trent, Nottinghamshire United Kingdom where has his Studio of Fine Art. Iñaki´s work has experienced a huge transformation and has been through a variety of periods, techniques and styles. Crespo had exhibitions in Spain, mainly in Bilbao. In 1996 he took the challenge of coming to UK, a place where he always found inspirational. Iñaki has sold his work to private collectors, institutions and has done commission work as well. Crespo located to Granada, southern Spain 2007 where continued painting and also taught drawing and painting to children and people in the local area. Explanation of Iñaki Crespo’s artwork Iñaki’s work is about the unification and integration of two very different concepts such as lines and blocks of colour. The figures emerge from the background by the position of blocks of colour and the direction of lines. Iñaki also creates movement by the intensity of the colour in certain areas on the canvas. In his cityscapes plays with the size of blocks of colour and the length of lines to achieve distance and proportion.
